The different types of hemorrhoids
As is the case with many diseases, there are different types of hemorrhoids. To be precise, there are two types, one of which is subdivided into four stages.
External hemorrhoids: they are much more sensitive. For the simple reason that there are more sensory fibers in this area. They form and develop under the skin around the anus. There is a higher risk of a clot forming in a dilated vein.
Internal hemorrhoids: this type forms inside the anus and rectum. It can reach several centimeters in length. When not treated quickly, it evolves through four stages.
In the first stage, the hemorrhoid remains internal. In the next stage, it only protrudes during defecation. In the third stage, it protrudes well and is reducible. In the fourth stage, however, it is no longer reducible.
How to treat hemorrhoids?
You can get rid of them. However, your treatment must take into account a number of factors such as the type of hemorrhoids you have and its stage of progression.
The first thing to do is to modify your diet. Thus, limit as much as possible the consumption of irritants: spices, coffee, alcohol. Eat less red meat than usual and especially increase your daily fiber intake.
Next, you should also apply certain lifestyle rules. To this end, use softer paper to wipe yourself. Maintain impeccable anal hygiene.
Avoid lifting heavy objects. Also, avoid wearing tight clothing. These can increase your blood pressure.
The use of topical treatments such as ointments and creams can help you.
If medications are not sufficient, then more drastic measures may be necessary by trying other treatments: surgery or hemorrhoid ligation.
Natural treatments are also an alternative: applying honey, herbs like horse chestnut, and many others.
